Here is an awesome and rare, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1969 in a very large size for the era. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and wide railroad track steel bar hour markers with black contrast stripes, wider ones at the poles. There are a couple of small spots around the dial center and slight corrosion on the Seiko and KS logos. The baton hands with black contrast are in fine condition with the minute hand showing some corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date and weekdays in English and Kanji. Saturday and Sunday is in blue and red color while the rest of the week is in black. The quick-set function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with light overall wear such as at 2 and 9 o’clock. The very large, square-ish stainless steel case with the original KS crown and embedded lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notable a nick at around 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold KS medallion and is in very fine condition.

The watch comes on an original King Seiko steel bracelet in very fine condition. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details fits your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5626A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in August 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The KS and its “big brother” the Grand Seiko were made to show the world the prowess of Japanese watchmaking. They remain some of the most iconic and collectible vintage watches with an outstanding design and engineering quality.
