Here is a wonderful, all original King Seiko 45KS from 1970. The silver linen dial is in very fine condition, with a slight and even patina and steel Seiko and KS logos. It has black strip hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There are a few tiny marks around the dial and some wear spots around the edge of the dial at around 9 and 12 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands with the characteristic black center stripes are in very fine condition. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to set the time.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 4, 7 and 12 o’clock. The large and angular stainless case with the original KS crown is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced towards the lower right lug. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved gold KS medallion and is in fine condition, with a few marks of wear.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 4500A movement beats strongly and accurately at the then insane rate of 36000 bph to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
