Here is a wonderful and rare, all original IWC dress watch from 1952. The silver dial is in fine condition, with the script IWC logo and golden wedge hour markers, double at 12 o’clock and the characteristic steel spheres demarking the minutes. There are a few tiny spots around the dial and some marks at the top edge of the dial at around 11 to 1 o’clock. The dauphine hands are in good condition with some corrosion showing.
The stainless steel bezel is in good condition showing overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 3 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and elegantly curved lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly at the lugs. The case back is in fine condition, with some overall wear.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 852 movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
