Here is a wonderful, all original Ulysse Nardin dress watch from 1970. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a slight and even patina and barely any marks. It has a steel anchor logo and steel strip hour markers, twin markers at 12 o’clock. The baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original black contrast intact. At 3 o’clock, the steel framed window displays the weekday and the date, of which the date can be quick-set by repeatedly pushing the crown in. The quick-set function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in good condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at the top and bottom. The chunky stainless steel cushion case with embedded lugs is in fine condition, with a few marks on both sides and towards the lugs. The stainless steel case back with the UN anchor logo is in fine condition, with just a few marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Ulysse Nardin’s N11JL movement based on the AS 1876 beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The chunky 70s design of this watch combined with the great overall condition makes this a very cool watch on the wrist. It is a perfect daily driver that also works well in more formal settings.
