Here is a fabulous, all original 1st generation King Seiko from 1962. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a black script King Seiko logo and lettering. It has chunky steel hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. There is some wear along the rim of the dial, perhaps most pronounced at around 4, 10 and 12 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition with some discoloration of the Rhodium plating.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original crown and elegant, long lugs is in fine condition with light wear, mostly towards the lugs but also on the case sides. The stainless steel case back has a somewhat worn shield medallion and a small dent and is in overall fine condition. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 54A-based King Seiko movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The first generation KS is not easy to find anymore and when in this condition they are a real find. This is a gem of a watch that will add to any collection while also being a wonderful watch to wear as part of a regular rotation schedule.
