Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation from 1969. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem, and Constellation star and barely any marks apart from a small discolored spot just right of the word “Chronometer”. The dauphine hands are in very fine condition, with the original black contrast intact. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. Setting the date should always be done with the hands at the lower half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel with a subtle sunburst pattern is in fine condition with light overall wear, most notable at around 6 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and straight lugs is in fine condition with some wear, mostly at the lugs and on the right case side. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean steel Geneva observatory medallion and is in fine condition with some wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s perhaps best movement ever, the 564, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
Constellations are wonderful and timeless watches, with very classic designs and the best movements available. This watch is a great example of that and is a watch that you will look forward to wearing every time you put it on your wrist.
