Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation Pie Pan Chronometer from 1962. The silver sunburst Pie Pan dial has a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. At the poles are arrow tail steel hour markers with black onyx inlay and in between are faceted steel bar hour markers, also with black onyx inlay. There is a small discoloration just left of the center of the dial and a couple of tiny corrosion bubbles on the right side of the center of the dial. The dauphine hands with the original black contrast are in very fine condition. The golden framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 8 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy teardrop lugs is in very fine condition with a few marks, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a slightly worn gold Geneva observatory medallion and a scatter of small scratches and marks.
The original Omega bead of rick bracelet is in fine visual condition, showing some stretching common with old bracelets. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details fits your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
Constellations are fabulous and very collectible watches, and this early model looks great on the wrist with its fabulous dial and lugs and overall condition. This is a watch that will add to any vintage collection and regular rotation schedule.
