Here is a wonderful and rare, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat Chronometer from 1971 in an unusual TV case. The silver linen dial is in very fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos. It has faceted steel bar hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. There are a few tiny marks around the Seiko and KS logos. The tapered hands with central black stripes are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. This function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly on the right half. The brushed stainless steel case with the original crown and integrated lugs is in very fine condition, with only light overall wear. The brushed stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean KS Chronometer engraving and is in very fine condition, with a few scratches and marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
TV style Seiko’s aren’t very common and when in this condition it is a find. This is a very classy watch that is perfect for the office or professional circumstances while it also adds to any vintage collection.
