Here is a fabulous, all original IWC caliber 8541B from 1970. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with the steel IWC block logo with the script logo underneath it and faceted steel bar hour markers, double markers at the poles. Slight wear can be seen under magnification along the edge of the dial at around 1-5 o’clock. The steel sword hands are in fine condition with a few marks visible upon close inspection. There is also a small mark at the 9 o’clock hour marker. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to time-setting mode, to facilitate more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 23:45 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with the original fish crown and heavy, faceted lugs is in excellent condition. The case back is in excellent condition, with a brushed center and a polished rim and a few marks. The case has been restored.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, IWC’s superb 8541B movement with the Pellaton winding system beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
