Here is a fabulous, all original Tudor Prince OysterDate from 1998. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Tudor shield logo at 12 o’clock and black lettering. It has steel strip hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends. The baton hands with the original lume intact are in fine condition, with slight degradation to the lume. At 3 o’clock, the Cyclops eye displays the quick-set date. When the crown is pulled out to set the time or date, the hack feature stops the seconds hand so the time can be set precisely. The quick-set function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear, such as at 12, 3 and 10 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original screw down Rolex crown and elegant lugs is in fine condition, with a radially brushed face showing a few marks at the lugs and polished sides also showing a few marks. The case back has the Oyster ridges and Rolex inscription, and is in very fine condition with a few marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Tudor’s version of the ETA 2824 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
