Here is a fabulous, all original Lord Marvel LM5740 from 1975. The silver linen dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and steel Arabic numeral hour markers. There is a small mark close to the 7 o’clock hour marker and a few marks around the edge of the dial at around 12, 2 and 3 o’clock. Under magnification some wear can also be seen around the numerals but this is not visible to the naked eye. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition, with central black contrast stripes.
The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless case with the original crown and long, faceted lugs is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case back has a circular brushed finish and is in very fine condition with just a few small marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch the “grandfather of Seiko hi-beat movements”, the high grade 5740C, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day at the then insane frequency of 36,000 bph. The watch was fully serviced in September 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Lord Marvel was Seiko’s flagship series before the Grand Seiko. This is a wonderful watch to wear with its overall great condition, and it’s a great conversation starter with its history and background.
Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use. We offer 14 days full return rights and are very proud of our reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.
