Here is a fantastic, all original Rolex Datejust from 1971. The silver linen dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and barely any marks. It has rounded steel hour markers, wider markers at the poles. The faceted baton hands are in very fine condition. The hack feature stops the watch when the crown is pulled out so the time can be set accurately. The 3 o’clock window with the cyclops eye displays the manually set date.
The 18K white gold fluted bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides, with the original screw-down crown working as it should. The case is in fine condition, with a few marks on both case sides and on the face towards the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with some marks and scratches. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original Jubilee bracelet is in fine condition visually but shows some stretching. It is large enough for big wrists.
Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1575 movement – marked 1570 as was common – beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
