Here is a fabulous, all original Rolex Datejust Thunderbird from 1968. The silver sunburst dial is in minty condition, with a golden Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and barely any marks. It has faceted golden hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends. The faceted baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original lume intact. The hack feature stops the watch when the crown is pulled out so the time can be set accurately. The 3 o’clock window with the cyclops eye displays the manually set date.

The 18K yellow gold Thunderbird bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, most prominent at around 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides, with the original gold screw-down crown working as it should. It is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the case sides and towards the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with light overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original gold plated Rolex buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1575 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
