Here is a wonderful, all original Speedmaster Mark 40 from 1997. The black dial has white lettering and yellow lume hour markers and is in excellent condition, with barely any marks. It has three subdials; the 6 o’clock subdial shows the chronograph hour counter, the 9 o'clock sub-dial shows the running seconds hand and an arrow hand indicating the 24h time, and the 12 o'clock subdial shows the chronograph minute counter as well as the day of the week and the month. The central white baton hands with yellow lume are in very fine condition. The central seconds hand shows the chronograph seconds count and the date is shown by the black hand with a white lance tip. The date can be quick-set with the crown in the middle position while the weekday can be set by the pusher on the left side of the case.

The stainless steel bezel has a black inlay tachymeter scale and is in fine condition with some marks and nicks throughout, perhaps most notable at around the 250 mark. The stainless steel case with the beautiful "Speedmaster" bombe lugs and the original crown and pushers is in very fine condition, with just a few marks of wear, perhaps most notable on the left case side. The case back has a crisp and clean hippopotamus logo and shows light overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Omega buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Omega's 1151 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in August 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Speedmaster is one of Omega's most recognizable watches, and this Mark 40 is a real beauty. It is a great watch for your regular rotation and goes well with both formal and casual wear.
