Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Seamaster pre-De Ville from 1962. The silver sunburst dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and emblem. It has taken on a slight and even patina through a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial and looks fabulous. It has beveled steel bar hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. The markers at the poles have black onyx inlay. The baton hands with the original lume are in fair condition, with visible corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with a few marks, perhaps most notable at around 5 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with slightly spread lugs and the original crown is in fine condition, with some wear mostly at the lugs but also with some marks on the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus logo and some overall wear. It carries the inscription “Waterproof”.
The original stainless steel bead of rice bracelet is in fine visual condition, with slight stretching and light overall wear. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 562 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
