Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 from 1973 in a very large size for the era. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and black lettering. It has faceted steel hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, wider marker at 12 o’clock. There are a few small marks around the dial and the 3 o’clock lume dot is somewhat disintegrated, impacting the immediately adjacent area. The baton hands are in fine condition, with the original black contrast and lume intact albeit degraded. The hack function stops the watch when the crown is pulled out into time-setting position, allowing for more accurate time-setting. The quick-set date is displayed in the 3 o’clock window. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear in the form of nick and scratches. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs has a sunburst pattern on the face and brushed sides and is in fine condition, showing light wear on the face and some marks on both case sides, perhaps most notable at the bottom tip on the outside of the upper right lug. The brushed stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved hippocampus engraving and just a few marks of wear.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1012 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This is a fabulous watch to wear and own, with the very large size for the era and the great overall condition. It has a superbly timeless design and it is a watch that can serve well as a daily driver but will also rise nicely in value over the years.
