Here is a wonderful and rare, all original Omega Seamaster from 1961. The silver sunburst dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and is in very fine condition. It has a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black onyx inlay, double at 12 o’clock. There are a couple of small marks to the left of the dial center. The dauphine hands with the original black contrast are in fine condition, showing some corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.
The wide stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some wear throughout, perhaps most notable at around 6 and 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy, thick lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear on both the case sides and the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus logo and some overall wear.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 562 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in June 2023 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
