Here is a stunning and rare, all original Omega Seamaster Chronometer from 1969. The silver sunburst dial has taken on a gentle and even patina and is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black onyx inlay, double at 12 o’clock. The dauphine hands with the original black contrast are in good condition with some visible corrosion. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The wide stainless steel bezel is in excellent condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case with a polished face and brushed sides has the original crown and heavy lugs and is in excellent condition. The stainless steel case back is in excellent condition, with a well preserved hippocampus logo in its center and just a couple of marks. The case has been restored.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s perhaps best movement ever, the 564, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Chronometer versions of the Seamaster are rare, and this wide bezeled reference in this condition is a real find. This is a watch that will fit into any vintage collection while also being a watch that can be worn as part of a regular rotation schedule.
