Here is a wonderful and rare, all original Omega Seamaster Chronometer from 1969 in an oversized version. The silver sparkle dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and emblem and railroad style steel hour markers with black contrast, wider marker at 12 o’clock. There is slight discoloration along the edge of the dial at around 7-8 o’clock. The baton hands have the original black contrast and are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to the outermost position. This should only be done with the hour hand at the lower half of the dial.
The wide stainless steel bezel has a subtle sunburst pattern and is in very fine condition, with a few small nicks and marks. The imposing stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs is in fine condition, with a polished face and brushed sides. It shows some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at the bottom lugs. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a well preserved hippocampus logo and a few marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, perhaps the best watch movement ever made, Omega’s caliber 564, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
