Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation Chronometer from 1963 in a very large size for the era. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo, emblem and Constellation star. At the poles are beautifully shaped arrow tail shaped steel hour markers with black onyx inlay and in between are faceted steel hour markers also with black onyx inlay. There are few tiny corrosion spots around the dial, slightly more concentrated towards the upper left quadrant of the dial, none of which are really visible to the naked eye. The dauphine hands with the original black contrast are in fine condition, with slight corrosion visible. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear. The jumbo sized stainless steel case with the original crown and lovely teardrop lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and on the case sides. The stainless steel case back has a somewhat worn gold Geneva observatory medallion and is in fine condition with some marks and scratches.

The original stainless steel bead of rice bracelet is in very fine visual condition with some stretching and light overall wear. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 561 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
