Here is a gorgeous, all original Omega Genève from 1972. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with gentle and even patina. It has a black script Omega logo and lettering and barely any marks. The faceted steel bar hour markers have the original black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, double at 12 o’clock. The baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original black contrast and lume intact. The seconds hand is black. The hack feature stops the seconds hand when setting the time, to allow accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set with the crown pulled out into the middle position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel/watch face is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notably at around 4 and 11 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and elegant straight lugs is in fine condition with a few marks mostly at the lugs. The brushed stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with just a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1012 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in July 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
