Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Genève from 1969. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and black lettering. It has steel bar hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, wider markers at the poles. There are a few tiny spots around the dial, none of which are really visible to the naked eye. The baton hands are in fine condition with the original lume intact. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to outermost position. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel case with straight, elegant lugs and the original crown is in very fine condition with only light overall wear, perhaps most notable a couple of marks on the right side of the case below the crown. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a brushed center and a sunburst pattern on the sloped rim. It has a few marks and scratches and carries the inscription “Waterproof”. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on the original Omega bracelet, which is in very fine condition with just a few wear marks, mostly on the double fold clasp. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The wonderful dial and overall great condition matched with one of the best movements ever made makes this a watch that is easy to love. It sits very nicely on the wrist and it will serve you well for many years to come.
