Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Genève from 1969. The blue sunburst dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel hour markers with black contrast. There is a scatter of tiny corrosion spots around the dial making it resemble a starry night sky. The wide baton hands have black roots and white tips with the original black contrast intact and are in very fine condition. The seconds hand is bright orange. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be quick-set by repeatedly pulling the crown out to outermost position. This should only be done with the hands at the lower half of the dial.
The stainless steel case with the original crown and stub lugs is in very fine condition, with a brushed face and polished sides. It shows only light overall wear both on the face and sides. The stainless steel back has a brushed center and sunburst rim and is in fine condition with some overall wear. It carries the inscription “Waterproof”, which should not be relied upon for a watch of this age. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original steel bracelet is in very fine visual condition with a few marks and slight stretching. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist, as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 565 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Genève was in many ways an “entry level” Omega, but they still came with the best movement Omega had and wonderfully finished dials and cases. This a watch loves to be worn and it will serve you well for many years to come.
Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use. We offer 14 days full return rights and are very proud of our reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.
NB! Note that we are based in Switzerland and that the buyer is responsible for any import fees their country may impose on a purchase from abroad. Ask us if you have any questions.
