Here is a fabulous, all original Omega De Ville from 1971 in a rare reference. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and strip steel hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, double at 12 o’clock. There is a faint scratch close to the 9 o’clock hour marker and a tiny mark above the “D” in “De Ville” and there is slight wear around the edge of the dial from around 11 to 3 o’clock. The slim baton hands with the original lume and contrast intact are in fine condition with slight wear visible under close scrutiny. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock shows the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used when the hour hand is at the bottom half of the dial. The hack feature stops the seconds hand when pulling the crown out to set the time so the time can be set accurately to the second.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with only light overall wear, perhaps most prominent at around 2, 5 and 6 o’clock. The brushed stainless steel case with the original crown and slightly spread lugs is in fine condition with a few marks, mostly at the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with the De Ville logo in the middle and a radial pattern around it, showing a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1002 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
