Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation C Shape from 1972. The brushed silver dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Omega logo and emblem and barely any marks. It has a faceted steel strip hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, wider marker at 12 o’clock. The baton hands with the original lume and black contrast are in fine condition with some degradation to the lume in the hour hand affecting the surface around it. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the weekday and date. The weekday can be quick-set by turning the hands backwards and the date is quick-set with the crown pulled out to the middle position. Setting the date should always be done with the hands at the lower half of the dial.
The ribbed 18K white gold bezel is in very fine condition with light overall wear. The stainless steel C shape case with a radial finish and the original crown is in very fine condition. It shows a few marks on the face, in particular on the right half, and also on the right side just above the crown. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean Geneva observatory medallion and is in very fine condition with light overall wear.
The original stainless steel brick wall bracelet is in very fine visual condition, with little stretching and only light overall wear. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1021 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Constellation is one of the most recognizable and sought after vintage watches, and this one is a beautiful part of the series. It looks great on the wrist and goes well with both formal and informal wear.
