Here is a fabulous, all original Omega Constellation C Shape from 1973. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and emblem. It has faceted steel hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, a wider marker at 12 o’clock. There are a couple of tiny spots around the edge of the dial such as at around 11 and 1 o’clock. The baton hands with the original lume and black contrast are in fine condition with some wear visible under close inspection. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. Quick-setting the date should only be done with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition, with a subtle sunburst pattern and some overall wear in the form of small nicks and marks, perhaps most notably at around 12 o’clock. The stainless steel C shape case with the original crown is in very fine condition, with a radially brushed face and brushed sides separated by a polished bevel. It shows light overall wear, perhaps most notable a few marks towards the lower right lug at the face and on the left case side. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean Geneva observatory medallion and is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original Omega brick bracelet is in fine visual condition, with some stretching and light overall wear. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1011 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in July 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
The Constellation is one of the most recognizable and sought after vintage watches, and the C shape version is a beautiful part of the series. It looks great on the wrist and goes well with both formal and informal wear.
