Here is a fabulous and very rare, all original Longines Flagship Ultra-Chron from 1972. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a steel Longines logo and Ultra-Chron emblem and steel strip hour markers with black contrast, double at 12 o’clock. The steel baton hands with the original black contrast are in very fine condition. The window at 4:30 displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by repeatedly turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately backwards through 22:30 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear such as at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 o’clock. The large and round stainless steel case with embedded lugs and the original crown is in fine condition with some overall wear, most notable at the bottom lugs. The stainless steel case back with the Ultra-Chron logo is in fine condition, with some wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Longines buckle.

Inside the watch, Longines legendary 431 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in August 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Ultra-Chron is one of Longines’ most iconic models and the Flagship one of their longest running series. The combination of the two is very rare and when in this condition it is a real find. This watch looks great on the wrist with the wonderful condition and large size and it is a great conversation starter.
