Here is a wonderful, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1972. The blue sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and barely any marks. It has faceted black polished steel hour markers, wider marker at 12 o’clock. The faceted and tapered baton hands are in fine condition with some wear visible under close inspection. The hack stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to set the time, so the time can be set more accurately. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date and weekday in Kanji and English. The quick-set should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at around 12 and 6 o’clock. The large cushion shaped case with the original KS crown and embedded lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear both on the sides and towards the lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved KS engraving and a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine condition with some overall wear both on the links and the double fold clasp. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade, Hi-Beat 5626A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in February 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Any King Seiko is always a joy to wear and own, but the blue dial on this one makes it immensely attractive. This is a watch you will want to wear very often and it will add nicely to any vintage collection.
