Here is a stunning, all original ultra-slim Universal Geneve Golden Shadow from 1972. The golden radially brushed dial is in excellent condition, with a black print UG logo and lettering and barely any marks. It has black Roman numeral hour markers. The golden fils hands with central black contrast stripes are in very fine condition. Note that due to the ultra slim profile, this watch does not have a seconds hand.

The gold plated case with the original crown and mineral glass crystal is in fine condition, with just a few marks on the face at around 2 and 8 o’clock and on the right case side. The stainless steel case back is in excellent condition, with a brushed finish and very few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch has the original UG buckle in very fine condition on an after market leather strap of good quality.

Inside the watch, UG’s fantastic 2-66 movement with the micro-rotor contributes to the ultra-slim profile of the watch. The watch was fully serviced in March 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Universal Geneve made many fantastic watches, and this one has a secure place as one of them. As dress watches go, they don’t come much more elegant and subtle than this one. This is a watch that will make its next owner very happy indeed.
