Here is a fabulous, all original Ulysse Nardin Chronometer from 1974. The brushed silver dial is in excellent condition, with the steel UN anchor and barely any marks. It has faceted steel bar hour markers, twin markers with black onyx inlay at the poles. The baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original black contrast intact. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The large cushion shaped stainless steel case with the original crown and embedded lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, most prominent at the face at around 8 and 12 o’clock but also with a few marks on the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean UN anchor medallion in its center and a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine condition with some wear on a few of the links and on the clasp. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Ulysse Nardin’s beautiful high grade N11MJ movement beats to the then insane rate of 36000 bph to about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in January 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This is a real time traveler’s piece, with the imposing case and fabulous dial and a high beat movement driving it. It makes a big presence on your wrist and putting it up to your ear to listen to the rapid fire movement is a great conversation starter.
