Here is a wonderful, all original Ulysse Nardin high beat dress watch from 1972. The brushed blue dial is in fine condition, with a steel UN anchor logo and white Roman numeral hour markers. There is some wear around the anchor and a few other spots around the center of the dial and also around the edge of the upper half of the dial. The tapered baton hands are in fine condition with light wear visible under magnification. The hack feature stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to time setting position. At 3 o’clock, the steel framed window displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 5 and 8 o’clock. The slim stainless steel case with long, curved lugs and the original crown is in fine condition, with a few marks throughout. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a radial brushed finish and a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Ulysse Nardin’s version of the high grade ETA 2826 movement beats at the then insane rate of 36000 bhp to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This watch is a lovely example of Ulysse Nardin’s timeless designs, with an elegant design and a slim case. It looks great on the wrist and the 36000 bph makes it a cool conversation starter.
