Here is a fabulous, all original Tudor Prince OysterDate from 1979. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Tudor logo at 12 o’clock and faceted steel hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends. Under magnification, slight wear can be seen on the hour markers. When the crown is pulled out to set the time or date, the hack feature stops the seconds hand so the time can be set precisely. The baton hands are in very fine condition with the original lume intact. At 3 o’clock, the cyclops eye displays the quick-set date. This function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides and is in fine condition, with some overall wear both towards the lugs and on the case sides. The screw down crown with the Rolex logo screws down as it should. The case back has the Oyster ridges and Rolex inscription, and is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original steel Jubilee bracelet is in very fine visual condition, with some stretching and just a few scratches and marks. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, ETA’s high grade 2784 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This is a great example of Tudor’s very classy and stylish designs, being in line with its more prominent sibling but at a much lower cost. This is a watch that will serve its next owner very well for many years to come will increasing nicely in value.
