Here is a fabulous, all original Tudor Prince Oysterdate from 1975 in a very large size for the era. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Tudor logo at 12 o’clock and faceted golden hour markers with black contrast. In the rehaut is a minute track with lume dots for the hours. Upon close inspection, a scatter of tiny corrosion bubbles can be seen around the dial but these are no visible to the naked eye. When the crown is pulled out to set the time or date, the hack feature stops the seconds hand so the time can be set precisely. The golden baton hands are in very fine condition with the original contrast and lume intact. At 3 o’clock, the cyclops eye displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.
The wide gold plated bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 3 and 9 o’clock. The big stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides and is in fine condition, with some marks both at the sides and the lugs. The golden screw down crown with the Rolex logo screws down as it should. The case back has the Oyster ridges and Rolex inscription, and is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original stainless steel bracelet is in fine visual condition, showing some stretching. It is large enough for moderately sized wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
