Here is a stunning, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat Chronometer from 1973. The brushed olive dial is in very fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and barely any marks. It has steel block hour markers with white contrast, wider marker at 12 o’clock. The baton hands are in very fine condition with central white contrast stripes. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial. The original faceted mineral glass is in very fine condition.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless case with the original KS crown and embedded lugs is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a KS engraving and a few marks of age and wear. The case has been refinished.

The original angular KS stainless steel bracelet is in very fine condition with little stretching. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp. If desired, the watch can be delivered on a leather strap.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625B movement ticks away at the then very high frequency of 28800 beats per hour, beating strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
