Here is a fabulous, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1969. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and faceted steel bar hour markers with black contrast, double markers at 12 o’clock. There are a few marks around the edge of the dial at around 1-3 o’clock. The dauphine hands with the characteristic central black contrast stripe are in very fine condition. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The monocoque stainless steel case with the original KS crown and heavy lugs is in very fine condition, with faceted lugs and sides, showing only very light wear on both the sides and at the lugs. The stainless steel case back has a crisp and clean gold KS medallion and is in very fine condition, with just a few scratches and marks. It carries an inscription showing the watch was originally presented as a work award. The case has been refinished.

The original steel bracelet is in very fine visual condition, with some stretching and just a few scratches and marks, mostly on the clasp. It is large enough for moderately big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625A movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
