Here is a wonderful, all original King Seiko 56KS Hi-Beat from 1973. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with steel Seiko and KS logos and barely any marks. It has steel strip hour markers with black contrast, double markers at 12 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition, with the characteristic black contrast stripes down the middle. When the crown is pulled out to set time, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable a couple of nicks at around 12 and 7 o’clock. The angular 7000 series stainless case with integrated lugs and the original KS crown is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly towards the lugs both also with some marks on the case sides. The stainless steel case back has a well preserved KS engraving and is in fine condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bracelet is in very fine visual condition, with slight stretching and light overall wear. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 5625B movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
