Here is a fabulous, all original Grand Seiko Chronometer from 1965. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and faceted steel bar hour markers, double at 12 o’clock. Some corrosion can be seen on some of the hour markers upon close inspection and there are some spots on the dial at around 2 and 8 o’clock. The faceted dauphine hands are in very fine condition with some marks visible upon close inspection. When the crown is pulled out to set time, the hack stops the seconds hand for more accurate time setting. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hands at the bottom half of the dial.
The stainless steel bezel is in very fine condition with a few small marks throughout. The stainless case with long, heavy lugs and the original crown is in very fine condition with only light overall war. The case back has the gold GS “Lion” medallion and a worn etching and is in good condition, with a few notable marks.
The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.
Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade 430 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in July 2022 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
This early GS look fabulous on the wrist, with its faceted flats and simplistic elegance. It is a watch for any occasion and also one that will add to any vintage collection.
Our watches are delivered in a luxury wooden watch box, fully serviced with a 12 month warranty that covers the mechanical functioning of the watch under normal use. We offer 14 days full return rights and are very proud of our reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.
