Here is a wonderful and rare, all original Seiko Flyback chronograph from 1971. The dark grey sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Seiko logo and white lettering. It has steel bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double markers at 12 o’clock. The sunken silver subdial at 6 o’clock shows the chronograph minute counter. The rehaut has a white decimeter scale. There is some wear around the edge of the silver subdial. The baton hands are in fine condition with the original lume intact albeit degraded. The center chronograph seconds hand has a red tip. The steel framed windows at 3 o’clock displays the weekday in Kanji and English and the date, both of which can be quick-set. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in good condition with some wear throughout, perhaps most pronounced at around 6, 10 and 12 o’clock. The large and chunky stainless steel case with the original crown and pushers and short lugs is in fine condition, with a horizontally brushed face and vertically brushed sides. It shows some overall wear both on the face and the sides, perhaps most noticeable a small scratch at the upper left lug. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with the Seiko and Daini logos and a few scratches and marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bead of rice bracelet is in fine visual condition with some stretching and overall wear, most notably on the double fold clasp. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp. 
NB! There is an extension piece on the bracelet, making it about 190 mm in total. Without the extension piece the bracelet is about 170 mm in length. 

Inside the watch, Seiko’s high grade caliber 7018A beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in October 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

A flyback chronograph returns to zero and immediately restarts if you push the reset button without first stopping the chronograph. It is a cool function in a very cool watch.
