Here is a wonderful, all original Rolex Oysterdate Precision from 1966. The silver sunburst dial is in fine condition, with the Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and faceted steel hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends. There is a scatter of small marks around the dial, which are barely visible to the naked eye and look exaggerated in the photos. The baton hands are in good condition with some visible wear. At 3 o’clock, the cyclops eye displays the manually set date.

The stainless steel bezel is in good condition with a number of small marks, perhaps most prominent at around 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides and is in fine condition with some overall wear at both the lugs and the sides. The original Rolex crown screws down as it should. The case back has the Oyster ridges and is in fine condition with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished, which is very rare for a Rolex.

The original stainless steel Oyster bracelet is in fine visual condition with some stretching. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1215 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Manual winding Rolex’s are less common nowadays and this one is a real find with its lovely vintage condition and unpolished case. This is a perfect daily driver that will also add to any vintage collection.
