Here is a fabulous and rare, all original Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date from 1975. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with a golden Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and faceted golden hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends. There is a tiny mark just above the Rolex crown and slight wear along the edge of the dial at around 1 and 3 o’clock. This is not visible to the naked eye. The golden baton hands are in fine condition with light corrosion visible under magnification. At 3 o’clock the manually set date is displayed through the cyclops window in the original plexiglass crystal. The hack feature stops the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to hand-setting position, allowing for accurate time setting.

The gold capped bezel is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The gold capped case is in fine condition, with a circular brushed face and polished sides. It shows some overall wear with a few small marks on both the case sides and at the lugs, including at the underside of the bottom lugs. The original screw-down crown works as it should. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a brushed center and a few marks.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Rolex’ high grade 1575 movement, marked as 1570 as was common, beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
