Here is a stunning, all original and unpolished Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust from 1966. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with the Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and barely any marks. It has curved steel bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends. The faceted baton hands are in fine condition, with the original lume intact. The hack stops the watch when the crown is pulled out so the time can be set accurately. The 3 o’clock window with the cyclops eye displays the quick-set date, which should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom of the dial.

The engine turned stainless steel bezel is in fine condition, with some overall wear, most prominent a mark at around 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides, with the original screw-down crown working as it should. It is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and on the case sides, perhaps most notable on the inside of the top lugs. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished, which is very rare for a Rolex.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Rolex buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1575 movement – marked 1570 as was common – beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in April 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
