Here is a wonderful, all original medium size Rolex dress watch from 1974 in a rare reference. The golden sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a gold Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and faceted solid gold hour markers. The golden tapered baton hands are in very fine condition. Note that this reference does not have a seconds hand, in order to keep the profile slim.

The rectangular solid 18K yellow gold case is in very fine condition, with the original crown and stub lugs. It shows only light overall wear both along the “bezel” and on the brushed case sides. The brushed case back is in very fine condition with a Rolex crown engraving and just a couple of marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Rolex buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1600 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-10 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2025 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

This is a very rare Rolex, with an unusual case shape and dial and an understated design. It is a watch that will get you lots of compliments and it is a great conversation starter.
