Here is a stunning, all original Rado Golden Horse from 1974. The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition, with the rotating Rado logo at 12 o’clock and the steel seahorses emblem at 6 o’clock. It has wedged hour markers at the poles and faceted steel bar hour markers in between. The dauphine hands are in fine condition showing light wear. The cyclops eye in the original plexiglass over the steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date. The date can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 20:30 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel case with heavy lugs and the original crown is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly at the lugs but also with some marks on the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in excellent condition, with a very well preserved seahorse medallion and only light wear.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Rado steel buckle in very fine condition.

Inside the watch, Rado’s version of the high grade caliber AS 1700 beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
