Here is a fabulous and fully original Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” from 1985. The black dial is in excellent condition, with a white Omega logo and lettering and barely any marks of wear. It has three silver subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, respectively displaying the minute counter, the hour counter and running seconds. The dial has yellow lume strip hour markers with white painted stripes between for minutes and seconds divisions. The white baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original lume intact.

The stainless steel bezel with a black tachymetre insert is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most visible around the number 85. The stainless steel case with the original crown and pushers and the beautiful bombe lugs that are a characteristic of the Speedmaster has a brushed face and sides, with polished bevels. It is in very fine condition with very few marks wear. The stainless steel case back is in very fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus logo in its centre and only a few marks of wear. The case has been refinished.

The original bracelet is in very fine condition, with little stretching and light overall wear. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s legendary 861 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in August 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The “Moonwatch” is probably the most iconic watch ever made, chosen by NASA for the Apollo missions. This specimen is a very fine example of that legacy and it is a great conversation starter that will only grow in value over the decades.
