Here is a fabulous and fully original Omega Speedmaster Classic Automatic from 1996. The silver parchment dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and black lettering. It has steel strip hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends, double marker at 12 o’clock. The sword hands are in fine condition, with the original lume intact. Slight corrosion to the dial details can be seen under magnification. The window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date and weekday. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, most pronounced at around 4 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and the beautiful bombe lugs that are a characteristic of the Speedmaster series has brushed face and sides with polished bevels. It is in very fine condition with only light overall wear. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition with a crisp and clean Omega logo at its center surrounded by the wording “Maison fondée en 1848”. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original bracelet is in very fine condition, with little stretching and only light overall wear, mostly at the double fold clasp. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1051 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in September 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
