Here is a fabulous, fully original Omega Speedmaster Automatic from 1997 in a rare configuration. The golden dial is in very fine condition, with a black Omega logo and lettering. It has three subdials at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, displaying the hour counter, running seconds and minute counter respectively. The dial has faceted golden bar hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends apart from at the poles. There is a scatter of small discoloration spots around the dial, which are not really visible to the naked eye. The golden baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original lume intact and black roots and tips. The window at 3 o’clock displays the quick-set date. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The solid 14K gold tachymetre bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most prominent at around the 200, 150 and 110 numbers. The stainless steel case with the original crown and pushers and the beautiful bombe lugs that are a characteristic of the Speedmaster has brushed face and sides, with polished bevels. It is in fine condition with some overall wear both at the lugs and the case sides. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus logo in its centre and a few marks of wear.

The original Omega two tone bracelet is in very fine condition, with little stretching and only light overall wear. It is big enough for large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1155 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
