Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Seamaster pre-De Ville from 1962. The silver waffle dial is in fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and emblem. It has fabulous spaceship hour markers at the poles and slim wedge hour markers in between, all with lume dots at the outer ends. There are just a few spots on the dial and a few marks along the edge of the dial at around 10 o’clock. The baton hands with the original lume are in fine condition, with some corrosion visible under magnification. The steel framed window at 3 o’clock displays the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 21:00 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 6 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with slightly spread lugs and the original crown is in fine condition, with some wear mostly at the lugs, perhaps in particular the lower lugs. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a crisp and clean hippocampus logo and some overall wear. It carries the inscription “Waterproof”. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The original stainless steel bead of rice bracelet shows slight stretching and is in fine visual condition with some wear mostly on the links closest to the case and on the double fold clasp. It is big enough for moderately large wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 562 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
