Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Seamaster from 1958 with the coveted jumbo Hippocampus case back engraving. The silver sunburst dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and faceted steel bar hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double at the poles. There are a few marks scattered around the dial, perhaps most notably a mark at the inner end of the 8 o’clock hour marker. The dauphine hands are in very fine condition with the original lume intact.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most notable at around 4, 7 and 9 o’clock. The slim for the era stainless steel case with the original crown and straight lugs is in fine condition with some overall wear, mostly towards the lugs. The stainless steel case back has a somewhat worn jumbo hippocampus engraving and is in fine condition showing overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 520 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in November 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

Watches this old are rarely in this great condition, making this one a real joy to wear and admire on your wrist. With a more classic design than the typical Seamaster, this is a great addition to any vintage collection.
