Here is a wonderful, all original Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 from 1971 in a very large size for the era. The brushed silver dial is in very fine condition, with a steel Omega logo and steel bar hour markers with black contrast and lume dots at the outer ends. There are a few marks of wear at the edge of the dial at around 1-2 o’clock. The wide baton hands are in very fine condition, with the original black contrast and lume intact. The quick-set date is displayed in the 3 o’clock window. The hack function stops the watch when the crown is pulled out into time-setting position, allowing for more accurate time-setting. The quick-set function should only be used with the hour hand at the bottom half of the dial.

The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most pronounced at around 3 and 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case with the original crown and heavy lugs has a sunburst pattern on the face and brushed sides and is in fine condition with some overall wear, perhaps most notable a scuff at the bottom left lug. The brushed stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a well preserved hippocampus engraving and just a few marks of wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap of good quality with the original Omega buckle in fine condition.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade 1012 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-12 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in March 2026 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Cosmic 2000 has a clean design and a size that still feels fresh today and this one looks great on the wrist with its overall very fine condition. It has a superbly timeless feel and it is a watch that will serve well as a daily driver.
