Here is a spectacular, all original Omega Seamaster Chronostop from 1967. The charcoal dial is in fine condition, with a red Omega logo and white lettering. It has faceted steel hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, while the 12 o’clock marker is wedge shaped and filled with lume. Some wear can be seen on some of the hour markers. There are a few tiny marks scattered around the dial and the letter “G” in “Omega” is slightly discolored. Outside the hour markers is the chapter ring with markings per 0.2 second for the stopwatch function. The black rehaut shows the tachymeter scale. The white baton hands have the original lume and black roots and are in fine condition. The seconds hand is painted orange/red and is in fine condition with a few tiny marks at the root.

The stainless steel case with the original crown and pusher and embedded lugs has a sunburst face and brushed sides separate by a polished bevel. It is in overall fine condition with some overall wear both at the face and the sides. The stainless steel case back is in fine condition, with a slightly worn hippocampus engraving and some marks of wear.

The stopwatch function is started, stopped and reset by successive presses on the pusher. It can record time up to 60 seconds. Many users like to keep the seconds hand running to show the seconds as in a regular watch.

The watch comes on an after market leather strap and buckle of good quality.

Inside the watch, Omega’s high grade caliber 865 beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in May 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.

The Chronostop is a piece of watch history and this one looks spectacular on the wrist. This is a watch that can be worn for both formal and more casual occasions and it is great as part of a regular rotation schedule.
